Candles & Chart Patterns

Read single candles, then the shapes they build. These are the patterns the Vero game tests.

  1. 01Candle anatomyA single candle shows the open, high, low, and close for a period. The body is the range between open and close.
  2. 02DojiA doji has almost no body. Open and close finish at nearly the same price.
  3. 03Hammer & hanging manA hammer has a small body at the top, a long lower wick, and little or no upper wick.
  4. 04EngulfingAn engulfing pattern is two candles where the second body completely covers the first.
  5. 05Flags & pennantsAfter a sharp move (the pole), price drifts in a tight channel against the trend on falling volume.
  6. 06Double tops & bottomsA double top is two roughly equal highs separated by a pullback. The neckline is the low between them.
  7. 07Head & shouldersA head and shoulders pattern has a left shoulder, a higher head, and a right shoulder at roughly the same height as the left.
  8. 08TrianglesA triangle forms when highs and lows converge toward an apex. Price makes smaller and smaller swings, squeezing the range.
